Who we’ve helped

Thanks to our donors and players we were able to raise $30,000 to help feed and care for the CWC’s rescued wildlife!

Bill Metzdorf presents the proceeds check to the CWC.

Beneficiary of the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament 2022 was the Wildlife Learning Center

Founded to provide public education in the life sciences, conservation and our environment, the WLC is a zoological park nestled in an old olive grove in San Fernando Valley.

News Update:
2022 Golf Tournament Ultrasound Machine Donation to the Wildlife Learning Center:

“Hi Everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s me, Dr. Monica from DocWalks4Animals. Thank you again to everyone who participated in and/ or donated to our Charity Golf Tournament this year at Brookside Golf Course. It was a tremendous success!
Our beneficiary this year is the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar. The WLC is home to more than 100 displaced or rescued wild animals. Their mission is to provide public education to inspire people to care for wildlife and environmental conservation.
They were in great need of an ultrasound machine for their medical clinic. Thanks to your incredible generosity, DocWalks4Animals was able to purchase this state-of- the-art color doppler ultrasound machine and this custom trolley cart for them. The unit is completely portable and comes with 2 ultrasound probes to diagnose almost any veterinary problem that the animals might face.
Bill and I will have the privilege of presenting this to the WLC later today. Thank you again to all of you and we hope that you will join us for next year’s DocWalks4Animals Golf Tournament and continue to support our wildlife conservation efforts.
Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe!
Bye!”

Beneficiaries of the 2021 Inaugural Golf Tournament were the International Bird Rescue, the Pasadena Humane Wildlife Program and the Wildlife Learning Center: each receiving $10,000.

International Bird Rescue is a global conservation organization for birds in a changing world. Since 1971, Bird Rescue has responded to over 250 oil spills and other wildlife emergencies, caring for more than 160,000 birds on six continents.
The Pasadena Humane Wildlife Program cares for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife with the goal of releasing animals back to the wild. Our team of wildlife veterinarians and technicians care for a variety of species onsite and partner with local wildlife rehabilitation organizations when more specialized care is needed.
Wildlife Learning Center (WLC) is a zoological park nestled in an old olive grove in San Fernando Valley, California, where visitors can appreciate and learn about animals from around the world. WLC was founded to provide public education in the life sciences, conservation, and our environment. WLC is dedicated to providing life-long care to more than 100 displaced, rescued, and zoo-born wild animals who call this shady, natural environment home.

Our donation from the Inaugural Golf Tournament in 2021 helped convert the Wildlife Learning Center Bald Eagle Enclosure into this:

Beneficiaries of the 2020 Original Walk across Southern California were the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens, the Aquarium of the Pacific and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park: each receiving $4,000!

Since Dr. Monica’s walk was originally a plan to raise money for Southern California, the lion’s share (pun intended) of the donations went to the 3 places where Dr. Monica walked, the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens, the Aquarium of the Pacific and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park!

However, due to the generous outpouring of donations, docwalks4animals.org was able to donate smaller sums to another 35 institutions as well!

We are still collecting donations to help wildlife and conservation projects: Will you help?
